The Campus Minister
The Chaplain serves students who are looking for Christian engagement and a community to support them throughout their university years.Caroline Penhale is new to serving as Chaplain for the United Church of Canada Campus Ministry at UBC. She is connected to University Hill Congregation on campus, but her ministry involves ensuring that all students, staff, faculty, and residents of the UBC area, who are connected with or would like to become connected with the United Church of Canada, find the best community to join in worship and discipleship. She will be taking Continuing Education courses through Vancouver School of Theology in the 2010/2011 Academic Year. Caroline comes to UBC after a career in Life Coaching & Vocational Rehabilitation. She has been a presenter with the United Church of Canada's Emerging Spirit program and is currently the Project Coordinator for the New Ways to Sing Praise International Hymn Writing Competition at St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church in Vancouver, BC. A high energy extrovert who needs to remind herself to slow down and relax once in a while, Caroline is particularly interested in the cultivation of practices and habits that support the spiritual journey and nourish the often overworked and overstressed soul.
